By cutting off the venous blood flow, this will lead to metabolite build-up within that particular muscle, or in this case the BICEPS. OK good, now here is the theory as to why this is effective when building muscle. You see, BFR Training involves using a band to cut off VENOUS blood flow (or the flow of blood from veins returning deoxygenated blood back to your heart) while maintaining arterial blood flow into the muscle.
